TitleResearch Bulletins
DescriptionThe Research Bulletin's comprise the findings of the Globe Research team who consisted of Professor Andrew Gurr (Head of Globe Research), Chantal Miller-Schütz and Pauline Kiernan in partnership with the University of Reading where Gurr was Professor and Director of the Renaissance Texts Research Centre. Chantal Miller-Schütz and Pauline Kiernan were Leverhulme Fellows whose research documented, in great detail, every aspect of performances at the Globe. When the Fellowships were completed this research was continued by Dr Jaq Bessell and others. The Research Bulletins include a variety of material on how the plays developed. This includes comments on rehearsals, character development, scene development, dramaturgical context, cuts or changes to the text, music, movement, blocking on stage, vocal techniques, the pillars, audience, original practice and interviews with cast and crew. They also include reflections on how the space of the theatre should be used and the principles for performing in the space.
